Happy Valentine’s Day: Valentine’s Day is the day for Cupid to shoot his arrows of love. Whatever the heck that means
The male of the species has various stages of life with respect to the manner in which he reacts to those arrows:
– Ages 4-9: What the heck are girls good for?
– Ages 10-11: Why am I looking at girls’ legs and why do I like the pretty movie stars?
– Ages 12-13: This is getting dangerous. Maybe I had better join a girl haters club. Golly, she has pretty legs.
– Ages 14-15: She is sort of pretty. Maybe I’ll take her to a movie.
– Ages 16-18: I’m in love.
– Ages over 18: It goes downhill from there.
Well, my Valentine to you this year is a bit unusual. It is a Valentine some young boy gave to my mother in 1911, when Mama was just a few weeks away from turning twelve years of age.Once more, happy Valentine’s Day.
