Are You at the Right Place?
Before I go any into one of my stories, I’ll give you a couple of clues so you’ll know if you want to read further.
Most of my writing is about humor and family. In other words, if you’re looking for explicit sex and violence, and a lot of crudeness and profanity, you’re probably not going to like my material.
Note: I did write a romance novel called The Waitress that has a few steamy scenes. You’ve been warned. If you still blush, it may make you do so.
I also write quite a bit about U.S. History, including a book called A Stroll Through American History. I have a couple of short story collections that are autobiographical. The Forties & The Fifties is about growing up in a large family in West Virginia. And “Wrath of Grapes” is about my time in the U.S. Air Force.

Why I Started Blogging
When my wife Carolyn died from leukemia in 2017, I was a mess. That’s a simple truth. We were married for 53 years, so this was an extreme change in my life.
I thought I might drink myself to death.
But one evening, I got up and went out to a little local pub near my home and had a drink. While I was there, I enjoyed some good conversations and met people I’ve come to think of as friends.
So I went back again. And again.
Well, I told people that I had written some stories and they seemed interested. I started sharing some of the stories and books I’d written with a few people. This was before I’d officially published my books. I printed them and gave them to anyone who expressed an interest in reading them.
Now what?
Fast forward a couple years and I’m published on Amazon and Medium and my own blog.
