The Atomic Bomb

The Atomic Bomb by H.D. Ingles

The atomic bomb? I ain’t real crazy about dropping bombs on people, atomic or otherwise. But sometimes it has to be done.

In 1945, the Japanese were just not going to surrender without a little shove in the right direction. So, in 1945, we could have, instead of dropping a couple of atomic bombs, dropped bomb after bomb after bomb. Of course, that would have required raid after raid after raid. Hell, we could have easily stretched the War out for another year. Maybe two. If that had happened, I doubt that more than five or ten million people would have been killed in air raids (twenty million tops).

And don’t forget that after all of those air raids and deaths, a land invasion would have been required. So there goes another two to five million lives (ten million tops).

So, with respect to atomic bombs and 1945, don’t be stupid.

Think about it.
